Garden Fresh!

Woke up this morning feeling great! Better than yesterday, a couple of muscles feel a little sore but that is from the stretching they are getting from the 5 Rites so that's a good thing. I treated myself to a movie, "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy", and then headed to the library to return some of my kids books, as well as briefly stopping in at the Wick to grab a tarp for my camping trip and chat to my business partner. I also picked another friend up from work and drove her home. I then headed home myself and, as you can see from the photo, did a spot of gardening (gotta find someone to eat this stuff . . . ). The reason I tell you all these boring details is to illustrate that my energy levels are such that I can carry on with a full day's activity with minimal effort. I'm sure that is surprising some of you considering the grave warnings I have receive from some well meaning but slightly misinformed people. I will address some of the dire warnings that I have been receiving soon.

So, I shall be off air from tomorrow, Wednesday, to Saturday as I am, as warned, going camping. I'm sure I will have something or other to say about something by the time I get back as it seems I haven't upset or annoyed anybody for a number of days now. Anyway, I'll see you on the other side.

Over the top!

Care for your colon!

Short video mainly to report on how I am feeling and and let you see how I'm looking at day 10.

As you can see everything is full steam ahead, onward and upward at this stage. As I said I am going camping for about 3 days to take a real break from everything including technology so will post stats etc when I get back. Speaking of stats I have had a number of questions about removal of wastes from the body during a fast and what to expect with regards frequency of bowel movements etc. So I will go back and add another category to my stats, "Bowel movements" (I'm way past bodily embarassment at this stage). Anyway, will leave you with a shot of Ji enjoying his holiday in Perth . . .

Stats: WF Day 9

Water: 14 glasses = 3.5 litres

Meditation: morning 20 min + evening 20 min = 40 min

Tibetan 5 Rites: morning x 8 + evening x 8 = x 16

Walking: 40 min

Sleep: 3 hours + 5 hours = 8 hours

Bowel movements: -

Immunity . . . well, nearly.

Ok, today I went shopping. Anyway, after grabbing the couple of things I needed, and having a bit of a stroll around, I thought I'd go wander through the food court to see how I'd react.

And, I have to say, even I am surprised at how impassive I have become to the tantalising looks and smells in such an emporium of edible overload. Even the sushi bar (LOVE sushi) with all those perfectly formed rolls all arrayed like seaweed soldiers on parade only held slight appeal for it's symmetrical beauty (I'm Libran, I enjoy order apparently) and not for it's gastronomic potential.

I did find however, that one smell that I have previously enjoyed has suddenly become quite repulsive to me. I have always enjoyed a good BBQ and a succulent roast (although since the kids came along the eating of these particular delights has become a reasonably rare occasion) but now, in my fasting state, I found the smell of roasted meat actually made me feel slightly ill.

Although, I admit that one particular alluring aroma did get through and give me pause . . .

Pretty sure I must have Indian in me somewhere . . . aaaaggggghhhhhhh . . . doubt I'll ever loose a hankerin' for the food of the eastern subcontinent.

Oh, there was one other sight that really caught my attention (as it always has) and I could feel those old tugs to walk straight in and order a taste or several . . .

But, that was all it was, an old habit that I am very aware of and so I took a photo instead and walked out. Mission accomplished.

After my morning experiment I came home, watched "Detroit Rock City" as recommended by a certain band I am working with at present (yes, very amusing fellas) and then took my shirt off for some sun and mowed the back lawn. The sun and exercise have left me with a feeling of slightly tired wellbeing and, over all, I am feeling stronger, more energetic, more alert today than at anytime possibly even in the last 3 months!

P.S. This sight was by far the most tempting . . .
